What qualifications do you need to become a massage therapist?
To become a qualified and registered massage therapist, you will need to be assessed and certified to a Level 3 Massage Therapist Certification (at a minimum).
For these qualifications, it is recommended that you attend a professional massage college to be instructed and examined accordingly on the required skills, in person.
This is a standard level of qualification in most countries, however, please check you local, state or country licensing.

How to give a good back massage?
To give a good back massage, you want to do the following:
- Prepare the person receiving the massage by making them comfortable. By having them sit in a relaxing chair or laying down on their front or stomach.
- Make yourself comfortable. By having your body in a safe and relaxed posture, you will deliver a better massage.
- Expose the back of the person you are giving the massage to. You can massage either directly upon the skin or through a light item of clothing, such as a t-shirt.
- Use of an oil or lubricant applied to the skin. This will help improve the quality of the massage.
- Apply only feel-good massage techniques that are safe and are performed for effective treatment.
- Always ask for continual feedback from the recipient of the massage.
